Nordic Youth

About Us

Nordisk Ungdom is a nationwide organisation for young Swedes who share a vision of a better Sweden. The organisation’s main goal is to act as a counterweight against today’s society, which we feel is unhealthy.

For a long time we have seen young people become more and more stuck in a materialistic worldview. A worldview where everything centers on consumption, casual sexual relationships and alcohol. Through television and other media they are taught that american consumer culture is something worth striving for, and everything else is rejected as weird. They are taught that the pursuit of money and wealth is the only thing that matters in life. We in Nordisk Ungdom strongly oppose this worldview.

We in Nordisk Ungdom would rather educate Sweden’s youth to help them understand that there is more to life than consumption. We want to teach young people to take pride in their heritage and their people. We want to save the youth from the rootlessness that is spreading and give them a healthy Swedish identity. We want to give them a basic understanding of why the world looks like it does and what we can do to improve it.

History

Nordisk Ungdom was founded in 2009 by a group of people who had been a driving force within Nationaldemokratisk Ungdom. The group felt that there was a need in Sweden for an autonomous and independent youth organization that could pursue radical political activism. A lot of inspiration was taken from Junge Nationaldemokraten (JN) who is the youth organisation for the German National Democratic Party (NPD), but organizationally completely independent. From the start there has been cooperation between NU and JN which include a wide exchange of experiences and ideas.

Nordisk Ungdoms first public appearance was made on May the 1st, 2010 in Helsingborg. There the organization marched together with 300 nationalists with flags and banners under the slogan ”Swedish youth have the right to a future”. In connection with this the organisation’s first campaign was launched. A campaign called “Rör ni las, blir det knas” that lasted all the way up to that autumn’s parliamentary elections. The campaign attracted a lot of attention and was mentioned frequently in the media.

Since the campaign was about informing young people about the Centre Party’s youth hostile politics it created great anger in that party. The Centre Party initiated a legal battle against Nordisk Ungdom in order to prevent the campaign from continuing. Despite the Centre Party’s worldclass lawyers and huge financial resources Nordisk Ungdom managed to defend themselves and win the dispute. A victory that showed that it is actually possible to stand up against the system and win.

During the summer of 2010 a group of delegates from Nordisk Ungdom set out on a journey through Europe. The aim was to establish contacts among nationalist groups on the continent and learn from their activities. One of the groups Nordisk Ungdom visited and made strong contacts with was Casa Pound in Italy. Other groups such as Junge National Democrats were also visited during the trip.

Our vision

We want to see a Swedish Sweden in a free Europe made up of independent states. We want to see a world in which different people and cultures live and develop according to their own will and ability. We want to see a world free of imperialism and oppression.

We want to create a society focused on what is best for the Swedish people. Where class struggle gives way to national unity and the realization that both workers and academics are needed for a functioning society. A society of national solidarity and community as opposed to individualism and materialism. We want to create a society where a healthy lifestyle is the obvious choice. Where sports and outdoor activities are a natural part of everyday life and people uphold healthy and natural ideals. A society without the junkfood and bingedrinking that we see today.

We want to create a society in which global companies will not be able to buy and consume Sweden’s natural resources and then move profits overseas and disappear without liability.

We would rather have a society where creativity and entrepreneurial spirit are encouraged and small businesses benefit. Where Swedish industry is not so easily sold to global companies and then emptied of money and dumped. We want to create a society in which the Swedish people’s ethnic and cultural survival is the priority above all else. Where immigration takes place only at a level where it does not threaten the survival of the Swedish people.

We want to create a society that is in balance with nature. Where a sustainable environment for animals and nature always comes before profit-hungry corporations. A society where humans live in harmony with what is sustainable without overexploiting the natural resources.

A world of diversity

Capitalist interest groups are currently working hard to transform the world into one great consumption culture. Different cultures and languages are seen as obstacles in the way of being able to sell as much as possible and make as much profit as possible.

Using everything from warfare to cultural imperialism, they try to destroy everything that makes different people unique. This goes on all over the world but has gone further in some countries than in others. In Sweden it has tragically gone so far that one can hardly speak of a Swedish culture anymore, since everything has become more or less americanized.

Nordisk Ungdom fights for the right for all people to keep and develop their identity on their own terms and not based on what global capitalists want. A world of diversity is something that has evolved over thousands of years and is worth preserving. We fight, therefore, for every people to have the right to their own country, language and culture. We also oppose anything that threatens a world of diversity. Integration, imperialism and multiculturalism are some of the things that we fight against.

National Unity

Nordisk Ungdom strive for something we call national unity. It can be briefly summarized as the opposite of the destructive forces within both capitalism and communism. National unity is based on the idea that everyone is necessary for a functioning society. Just as large construction projects need architects and engineers as well as electricians and carpenters, a society needs both academics and workers.

To build national unity you need a nation in balance. Disparities in living standards between different groups in society should not be too large as that creates tensions. Giving the CEO of a company billions in bonuses does not make sense in relation to his work for the company. But it is also absurd to claim that everyone should get paid the same amount, since some tasks require more responsibility and training.

We believe that the first step towards creating a society in balance and functioning national unity is to break the current trends of materialism and individualism. Only then can we build a society of national solidarity and community.

Integrity

Today we can see how more and more of our right to privacy is taken away from us. With the new law on signal intelligence the state now has the right to scan all e-mails, textmessages and eavesdrop on all mobile calls anywhere in Sweden. At the same time buses, squares and shopping centers are filled with surveillance cameras that follow your every footstep. Slowly but surely Sweden is turning into a policestate right in front of our eyes.

We in Nordisk Ungdom demands that this ends. We demand that Sweden should be an open and free society. We believe that the Internet should be a place where one can freely exchange ideas and information without any hindrance from the state. We also believe that one should freely be able to move around without someone behind a camera following one’s every step.

Sweden has many problems, but increased surveillance is not the solution. By putting cameras on buses you don’t solve the problem with gangs who rob and fight, you just move the problem to another location. The problem with multi-cultural gangs still exists!

Swedish independence

Nordisk Ungdom fights for Swedish independence. By that we mean that it is us Swedes and no one else that should control Sweden. Through its membership in the European Union, Sweden has lost much of its autonomy to Brussels, where few, if anyone, cares about what is best for the Swedish people. At the same time we also see how every day more and more power is moved from Sweden to the various bodies within the EU. The European Union is, right in front of us, turning into a huge bureaucratic centre of power, completely disconnected from the individual citizens.

We are often told that this is a positive development and that supranational unions such as the EU is a guarantee for peace and freedom. Nothing, however, could be further from the truth! The closer the power is the common people, the greater the dislike of war. In supranational unions the power lies with a political elite who don’t live in the same world as the common man. This makes it much much easier for them to pull the Union into wars because of greed or political games. Clear examples of this is how both the U.S. and Europe are in armed conflicts in several locations around the world at this very moment.

Free Internet

We in Nordisk Ungdom believe that a free exchange of information is a fundamental democratic right. Without freedom of opinion, a democratic society can not function. Since the advent of the Internet society has become much more free as it is now people themselves and not a few large media companies that determine what information is disseminated. Internet is the greatest thing that has happened for freedom of speech since the printing press.

Unfortunately there are those who do not like that people can now freely share information and knowledge. They want to control what information people get and they want to control what knowledge is spread. We often hear that the various laws enacted to control the internet is to stop file sharing. What it shows is that the leadership believes that money is more important than democracy and the free exchange of information.

We in Nordisk Ungdom believe that the Internet should be a place where one can freely exchange ideas and information without any hindrance from the state. We believe it is crucial for freedom of expression. Discussions about artists and their right to compensation is really just an insignificant sidetrack in this context.

Democracy

Nordisk Ungdom are working for a democratic society, by which we mean a society where power emanates from the people. For this to be possible, the power has to be taken back from the supranational EU institutions where the power is now largely located. Instead, decisions are to be made as close to those affected as possible. Greater autonomy for local authorities and more direct demoracy are two of the things Nordisk Ungdom fight for.

Today regimes across Europe are trying to monopolize the very concept of democracy by giving it a false set of values. Democracy is not about values, but a way of organizing society. But having those in power attempt to monopolize democracy will only lead down the path towards a dictatorship, where only opinions that the people in power approve of may be heard. It is a worrying trend and something that Nordisk Ungdom work strongly against. Democracy means government by the people and nothing else!

Today one of the greatest threats to democracy in Sweden is the mass media monopoly that some groups possess. Just as political power must be decentralized and involve the citizens, media ownership must also be decentralized and spread out to more players, all to prevent the mass media from becoming a propaganda bullhorn for a couple of actors’ interests. In a democracy everyone should have the opportunity to make their voices heard, not just a few people with power.
